The Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is announcing a call for grant project proposals "Support for development cooperation in recipient countries selected by the Republic of Latvia". In this case, they are specific EU Eastern Partnership countries – Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine – as well as the following countries in Central Asia – Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
This call for proposals is geared to provide support for the development of good governance, effective public administration and institutional capacity building, as well as business development, gender equality, mitigation of climate change, and the fight against disinformation, including the disinformation that has arisen particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and in the context of digitalisation.
Applicants eligible to take part in the call for grant project proposals are institutions of direct and indirect public administration, local governments, and government agencies of the Republic of Latvia as well as associations, foundations, businesses, and trade unions registered in Latvia. The project applicant should have at least one cooperation partner in a recipient country.
The total funding made available for the projects is EUR 240 013. A single development cooperation grant project can receive from EUR 20,000 to EUR 40,000.
The deadline for submissions of applications is 23.59 on 13 June 2021. Applications received after that time will not be accepted.
On 3 June 2021 at 15.00, all interested are welcome to join a videoconference (in Latvian) on the requirements for applicants and how to make an application and take part in the grant competition.
