Vēstnieks Ilmārs Breidaks akreditējas Jordānijas Hāšimītu Karalistē

On 2–5 December 2021, the Ambassador of Latvia, Ilmārs Breidaks, visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to present his credentials to His Majesty King Abdullah II.  The Ambassador also visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, where he met with the Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Mohammad Al Zainati, and the Secretary General, Dr Yousef Bataineh. The Ministry officials confirmed Jordan’s commitment to the strengthening of the political dialogue and economic cooperation between the two countries.   

During his official visit, Ambassador Breidaks also presented the Honorary Consul of Latvia in Jordan, Mr Khaled Khalil Miqdadi, with a Latvian state award – the Cross of Recognition, awarded to Mr Miqdadi by the President of Latvia earlier this year for his service to the Republic of Latvia and contribution to the strengthening of bilateral cooperation. Mr Miqdadi has been Honorary Consul in Jordan since 1997.

Following the visit, Ambassador Ilmārs Breidaks is assuming the office of non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The Ambassador resides in Cairo, Egypt.
