On 4 October 2023, the Ambassador of Latvia, Dana Goldfinča, presented her credentials to the President of the United Arab Emirates, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Latvia and the United Arab Emirates are linked by the friendly and constructive relations for nearly 30 years. The Ambassador will be working actively towards further development of economic contacts, including through promotion of Latvia’s visibility and providing support to the Latvian entrepreneurs who wish to enter the market of the Persian Gulf region. The upcoming UN Climate Change Conference should be highlighted in particular as an essential tool in meeting the global climate goals. The conference is scheduled to take place in Dubai from November 30 to December 12 this year.
Ambassador Dana Goldfinča succeeds Atis Sjanīts, who held the post of Ambassador to the UAE since 2019. The Embassy of Latvia in Abu Dhabi is operational from 2014.
