On 14 February 2023, in Yerevan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia, Edīte Medne, presented her credentials to the President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan.
In her address, the Ambassador highlighted the friendly diplomatic relations between the two countries in the course of more than 30 years. The Ambassador affirmed that Latvia was interested in continuing bilateral cooperation, both at the level of parliaments and through economic contacts, especially in information technologies, as well as in education and culture.
The President of Armenia commended the relations between the two countries and emphasised the need to maintain an ongoing political dialogue between them. The officials also discussed current issues concerning regional security.
On 13 February, Ambassador Edīte Medne met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Paruyr Hovhannisyan. Meetings have also been scheduled with the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, the Minister of Economics, Vahan Kerobyan, and other senior Armenian officials. At the Honorary Consulate of Latvia in Yerevan, the Ambassador will meet with the Honorary Consul of Latvia to Armenia, Armen Ghasaboghlyan.
