From 14 to 16 February 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, will take part in the 61st Munich Security Conference and engage in high-level debates to address the most pressing foreign and security policy concerns across the globe. Baiba Braže will join foreign policy experts and politicians in an exchange of views on defence and deterrence issues, ensuring the resilience of critical infrastructure, Russia’s hybrid threats targeting Europe, as well as the role of women in the fight for freedom in the world. The Minister is also scheduled to hold a series of bilateral meetings.
Alongside the discussion panels, Baiba Braže will have meetings with the Head of the Global Magnitsky Justice Campaign, Bill Browder, as well as The Financial Times Brussels Bureau Chief, Henry Foy, and Editor Roula Khalaf. Another event to be held on the sidelines of the conference is the John McCain Dissertation Award Ceremony. The US Senator, who passed away in 2018, strongly supported the Baltic States, Ukraine and Georgia, as well as urging to take a hard line against Putin’s Russia.

Bilateral meetings have been scheduled with the Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, Dame Priti Patel; the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism of Malta, Ian Borg; and former Prime Minister of Georgia, current opposition party leader, Giorgi Gakharia. A meeting is also envisaged with the Mayor of Kyiv, Vitaly Klitschko.
