On 3–4 April 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, will participate in the Meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Brussels, Belgium. This will be the first NATO Foreign Ministers’ meeting to be attended by a member of the new US administration, Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The agenda of the meeting covers NATO support to Ukraine, strengthening relations with partners in the Indo-Pacific region, and preparations for the NATO Summit in The Hague on 24–25 June.
The event will also include a NATO-Ukraine Council, at which the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha will brief the ministers about the current situation on the battlefield and the military support needed by Ukraine. The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, will take part in the NATO-Ukraine Council.
As part of the meeting, a separate discussion will be held with the Indo-Pacific Four (IP4) – the Foreign Ministers of Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and the Republic of Korea.
