On 22 April 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, will take part in the meeting of the European Union (EU) Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg. This is the new Foreign Minister’s first work trip abroad.
In their discussion on the EU’s support to Ukraine in its fight against Russia’s aggression, the Foreign Ministers will also be joined by the Ministers of Defence in order to jointly decide on a possible military support.
The Foreign Ministers will then address current developments in the Middle East and the situation in Sudan.
After the meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council, Foreign Minister Baiba Braže is to take part in the High Level Forum on Regional Security and Cooperation, which will gather EU Foreign Ministers and their counterparts from the Gulf Cooperation Council Member States for a discussion on the regional and global security issues.
