On 7 May 2024 in Brussels, Belgium, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, will take part in the meeting of the European Union (EU) Foreign Affairs Council in its development configuration.

The Council will focus on the situation in Ukraine and the Ukraine Plan, which forms the framework for receiving EU funding of EUR 50 billion towards reconstruction and putting reforms in place. Ministers will also exchange views on current developments in Palestine and engagement by EU Member States in the provision of development assistance in unstable and fragile regions.

On 18 March 2024, the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers approved the Ukraine Plan, which makes it possible for Ukraine to receive EU funding EUR 50 billion from the EU Ukraine Facility from 2024 to 2027.
