On Monday, 14 October 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, will take part in a meeting of the European Union (EU) Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg. Its focus will be placed on a discussion on the EU’s further support to Ukraine in the fight against the Russian aggression.
To provide updates on the current situation on the ground, ministers will be addressed via videoconference by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha.
At the suggestion of the Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže, the European Commission’s International Special Envoy for the Implementation of EU Sanctions, David O'Sullivan, will inform the Council about the state of play regarding sanctions against Russia.
Ministers will also exchange views on latest developments in the Middle East.
A discussion will then be held on the upcoming elections in Georgia and Moldova.
