On 1 July 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, will go on a visit to Germany, Berlin, where she will meet with the German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Annalena Baerbock. The Ministers will both speak in a panel discussion on security and public resilience at the German National Security Strategy Conference.

The conference will be followed by a bilateral meeting between the two ministers for a discussion on economic and security cooperation between the two countries, the EU and NATO issues and Russia’s war against Ukraine, while stressing the importance of support for Ukraine.

During her visit, the minister is also scheduled to meet with Anton Hofreiter, Chair of the Bundestag's European Affairs Committee, and Franziska Brantner, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.

The German National Security Strategy Conference is held for the first time to mark the first anniversary since the launch of the strategy on 14 June 2023. The conference aims to inform the wider public about the Government’s progress in the context of the strategy over the past year and to raise higher awareness of security matters.
