On 15 January 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, during her working visit to the Netherlands, will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the kingdom of the Netherlands, Caspar Veldkamp, and take part in an international conference organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands on an effective enforcement of the European Union sanctions against Russia and Belarus, and on sharing of experience with sanctions compliance and enforcement.
In a bilateral meeting, Baiba Braže and Caspar Veldkamp will discuss cooperation between the two countries, security policy challenges, future support to Ukraine and the priorities of the new European Commission, including on migration and the EU’s multi-annual budget.
Ministers will also sign the Agreement between the Republic of Latvia and the Kingdom of the Netherlands on the exchange and protection of mutual classified information.
At the international sanctions conference, Baiba Braže will give a speech and take part in a high-level discussion with the Foreign Minister of the Netherlands and Elina Valtonen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland, as well as with David O’Sullivan, EU Special Envoy for Sanctions, and Vladyslav Vlasiuk, Special Adviser on sanctions to the President of Ukraine.
