On Wednesday, 13 November, at the Innovative State Capital Companies’ Initiative Forum, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, will present the perspective of the Foreign Service on Latvia’s place in the world of innovation and entrepreneurship – the prospective industries and the competitive advantages of our country.

The Innovations Forum will take place in the Riga Radio and Television Tower (Zaķusalas krastmala 1), at 9:00 a.m.

All instruments of economic diplomacy at the disposal of the Foreign Service have been activated on a daily basis in order to help pursue the economic interests of Latvia abroad through promoting exports and attracting investments. The instruments of economic diplomacy include, for example, incoming and outgoing visits, the network of embassy contacts to organise meetings with representatives from high-level companies and institutions, resolving specific problem situations, seminars on export markets, involvement of the honorary consular network, and the involvement of the Latvian diaspora.

The Foreign Minister will highlight trends and international partners who are interested in Latvia, and to attract whom, the Foreign Service is actively using the available instruments of economic diplomacy.

The Innovations Forum will be attended by the Minister of Transport, Kaspars Briškens, the Minister of Finance, Arvils Ašeradens and other officials. The participants of discussions – industry experts, researchers, businesspeople – will look back on what has been accomplished, share their experience and knowledge about Latvia as a country of innovation, and exchange views on contemporary challenges and new opportunities for cooperation.
