On Tuesday, 28 January 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Baiba Braže, will welcome a visit from the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, Giorgos Gerapetritis. The Ministers will discuss bilateral relations between Latvia and Greece, support for Ukraine and topics related to cooperation in NATO and the EU. Views will also be exchanged on migration issues and cooperation in border protection.

The conversation will also focus on the United Nations Security Council matters in view of Greece having begun its term as a member of the UNSC this past 1 January. Greek experience is particularly important for Latvia in light of Latvia’s candidacy in the UNSC elections scheduled for June.

Giorgos Gerapetritis has been Greece's foreign minister since June 2023, having previously served as Minister of State and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure.
