On 1 December 2021 in Riga, the Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edgars Rinkēvičs, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, Eva Maria Liimets; the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis; and the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, Jean-Yves Le Drian. The Ministers discussed security policy issues, especially the situation with security in Mali and the Sahel, as well as current developments in Ukraine.
During the meeting, Edgars Rinkēvičs expressed Latvia’s support for the French Presidency of the Council of the EU coming up in the first half of 2022. We support the French Presidency in its efforts to achieve tangible results concerning the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act, the Latvian Foreign Minister noted.
