On 6 and 7 August 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, while on a working visit in Germany, will participate in the “2x2” programme of the World Latvian Youth Seminar, “Return”. The event is taking place at the Bērzaine Latvian Cultural Centre in Freiburg.

The Foreign Minister will open the seminar, sharing with the participants a retrospect of Latvia’s 20 years in NATO and the EU. The Minister will then take part in a discussion on the role of diplomacy in modern history. At the conclusion of the event, Baiba Braže will join the seminar participants on a night hike.

The 2x2 camp in Freiburg will bring together more than 60 participants from 12 countries – Latvia, Germany, Sweden, Portugal, Poland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Ireland, the USA, Belgium and Switzerland.

They are young Latvians aged 18 to 30 from different walks of life, most of them being students and young professionals. These young people are interested in exploring and maintaining their Latvian roots, engaging in social activities and building new contacts. For nearly a third of the participants, this will be their first 2x2 camp.
