On 22 January 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Krišjānis Kariņš, will take part in the meeting of the European Union (EU) Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels.
The Foreign Affairs Council will focus on urgent priorities – the military and financial support to Ukraine.
The Foreign Ministers of the EU Member States will discuss current developments in the Middle East in order to explore options for a long-term solution. This session of the meeting will also be attended by the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, as well as the Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Israel, and the Palestinian National Authority.
At the Foreign Affairs Council, the Foreign Ministers of EU Member States will also hold an informal exchange of views with the Foreign Minister of Egypt, Sameh Shoukry.
