On 28 June 2021 in Rome, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, had a bilateral meeting with the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya, Raychelle Omamo.

The diplomats discussed strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the areas of mutual interest, especially in the information and communication technologies sector. Edgars Rinkēvičs invited the Kenyan Cabinet Secretary to hold the second Latvia-Kenya political consultations in Riga, epidemiological conditions permitting. Cooperation in international organisations was also discussed during the meeting.

The conversation took place in the margins of the Ministerial Meeting of the Global Coalition to defeat Da’esh.
