On 10 April 2024, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andris Pelšs, met with the United States Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources, Geoffrey Pyatt.
The officials discussed cooperation on energy security issues, the current situation in the region, including the importance of timely support for Ukraine, as well as other topics on the international agenda.
The State Secretary commended the close bilateral relations between Latvia and the United States and thanked the United States for its important contribution to strengthening of security in the Baltic region.
