On 25 September 2020, Director General of the Bilateral Relations Directorate, Ambassador Ilgvars Kļava, had a phone call with the US State Department’s Coordinator for Counterterrorism, Ambassador Nathan A. Sales.
During the phone conversation, Ambassador Kļava reiterated that Latvia highly appreciates the opportunity to cooperate with the U.S. in reducing terrorist threats and combatting international terrorism. Ambassador Kļava also acknowledged that current laws and regulations of Latvia ensure full compliance with our international commitments. This also applies to measures taken against terrorist organizations, including Hezbollah, which is regarded as a terrorist organization in Latvia.
