Valsts prezidents pasniedz akreditācijas vēstuli Latvijas vēstniecei Dānijā Ingai Skujiņai

On 13 July 2022, the President of Latvia, Egils Levits, presented credentials to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Kingdom of Denmark, Inga Skujiņa.

Inga Skujiņa started her diplomatic career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1995 at the International Organisations Division. She later served in the Latvian Delegation to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) at the Embassy of Latvia in Austria. Upon her return to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she headed the Regional Co-operation and Arms Control Department and the NATO Department, and also served as adviser at the State Secretary's office. Inga Skujiņa has been Deputy State Secretary on Foreign Cooperation and Strategy Issues at the Ministry of Justice, Director of the Secretariat of the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, as well as Under-Secretary of State for European Affairs. Since 2017, Inga Skujiņa has been posted as Ambassador of Latvia to Germany.

The Ambassador studied at the University of Latvia, Institute of International Relations, and graduated from Riga Technical University, Faculty of Architecture. She has pursued her professional development at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna and the Swedish Institute of International Affairs in Stockholm, Sweden. Inga Skujiņa speaks English, German, Russian and French.

She was awarded the Cross of Recognition of the Republic of Latvia and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.

In this posting, Inga Skujiņa succeeds Alda Vanaga, who had been representing Latvia's interests in Denmark since 2018.
