On 17 September 2024, Alise Balode, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the French Republic, submitted her letter of credence to the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron.
In a conversation with the French President during the official ceremony, the Ambassador highlighted the excellent partnership between the two countries in the framework of the EU and NATO, addressed the potential exchange of bilateral visits and the implementation of joint reconstruction projects in Ukraine, as well as voicing the strong interest of Latvian businesses in deepening cooperation with France.
Ambassador Alise Balode succeeds Eduards Stiprais, who has served as Ambassador to France since 2020.
