On 6 April in Wellington, the Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia, Marģers Krams, presented his credentials to the Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief of New Zealand, Cindy Kiro. The accreditation will make it possible to build closer cooperation with New Zealand and the Latvian diaspora the country is hosting.
During his visit to New Zealand, the Ambassador met with public officials, businesses and representatives from New Zealand’s Latvian community. The meetings addressed the bilateral relations between the two countries, security-related issues in the Baltic region and Oceania, as well as further cooperation, including the enhancement of the legal framework, exchange visits, and the promotion of economic cooperation.
Ambassador Marģers Krams resides in Canberra, Australia. The Embassy of Latvia in Australia represents Latvia across Oceania.
