The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Baiba Braže, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, will participate in the seminar, which is being organised for the eighth consecutive year by the Latvian and Lithuanian Ministries of Foreign Affairs. The aim is to strengthen bilateral relations between Latvia and Lithuania by discussing international, regional and bilateral cooperation.
The seminar will take place on Monday, 26 August 2024, in Paliesė, Lithuania. At the end of the seminar, the Latvian and Lithuanian delegations will visit the Lithuanian-Belarusian border crossing point at Adutiškis, where a media presence is also foreseen.
Experts from the Latvian and Lithuanian foreign services will participate in the seminar. This year, the main issues discussed will be security and defence, including the outcome of the NATO summit, the current state of the European Union enlargement process, and bilateral and regional cooperation between the two countries.
