On 10 July 2021 in Dubrovnik, during the Dubrovnik Forum, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, had a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Đorđe Radulović.
The Foreign Minister of Latvia reconfirmed Latvia’s support for the EU perspective of Montenegro and the entire Western Balkans region. The Minister welcomed the EU-Montenegro Intergovernmental Conference held in Luxembourg on 22 June, which has sent a strong political message on the EU’s support for the process of Montenegro’s integration with the EU.
During the meeting, the Latvian diplomat thanked Montenegro for its contribution to the strengthening of the region’s security through the participation of Montenegrin troops in the NATO enhanced Forward Presence battle group in Latvia.
The Ministers also exchanged views on the opportunities for regional cooperation, including prospects for the Three Seas Initiative.
