On 10 April 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia, Jurijs Pogrebņaks, submitted credentials to the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović.
The accreditation ceremony was followed by a brief conversation with the President during which the Ambassador affirmed his readiness to work on expanding and deepening bilateral relations as two friendly countries, members of the EU and Allies in NATO, in the face of the challenges posed by the contemporary security situation.
Following the accreditation, Ambassador Pogrebņaks held a conversation with Neven Pelicarić, Foreign and European Policy Advisor to the President, underlining the need for a continued comprehensive support to Ukraine in its fight against the Russian aggression.
In his current post, Ambassador Jurijs Pogrebņaks succeeded Agnese Kalniņa, who had been serving as Ambassador to Croatia since 2022.
