On 24 September 2024, the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dace Melbārde, will attend a meeting of the General Affairs Council of the European Union in Brussels, Belgium.
At the meeting, representatives from the EU Member States will start preparations for the European Council meeting on 17–18 October. A discussion will be held on the European Commission’s annual Rule of Law Report and the rule of law situation in four EU candidate countries – Albania, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia. The Hungarian presidency will then present the priorities for its term of office.
