On 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a current meeting of the Sanctions Coordination Council in a video-conferencing format. The event focused on the implementation of restrictive measures imposed by the European Union on Russia and Belarus and their impact on Latvia’s economy.
Members of the Council also discussed the recognition and enforcement in Latvia of foreign arbitral awards if a foreign arbitration tribunal has awarded damages in cases where loss has occurred due to compliance with international sanctions binding on Latvia.
