On 27 August 2021, the state Secretary of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andris Pelšs, had a meeting with the new non-resident Ambassador of Namibia to Latvia, Charles Bernardt Josob.
The State Secretary congratulated the Ambassador on assuming his post and confirmed that Latvia was interested in intensification of the political dialogue and exchange visits between the two countries, the epidemiological situation permitting. The Namibian Ambassador highlighted the potential for business contacts and expanding of the legal framework. The officials were in agreement that the ICT and logistics sectors offered potential for cooperation. They also discussed cooperation in international organisations.
The Ambassador of Namibia resides in Helsinki, Finland. The Ambassador’s accreditation with the President of Latvia, Egils Levits, has been scheduled for 30 August.
