On 14 June 2023, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andris Pelšs welcomed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China Tang Songgen to the Republic of Latvia for an accreditation visit.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of cooperation between Latvia and China. The officials expressed their interest in continuing bilateral dialogue and mutually beneficial economic relations.
The state secretary underlined Latvia's support for a rules-based international order and Russia's unacceptable aggression against Ukraine.
