On 4 and 5 July, Latvia will welcome a visit from the leader of the Belarusian democratic forces and head of the United Transitional Cabinet, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. Her schedule includes a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, and members of the Saeima group in support of democratic Belarus, a visit to Daugavpils, and participation in the LAMPA Conversation Festival.
With teachers and students at Daugavpils University, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya will discuss cooperation in research and higher education. While in Daugavpils, she will also take part in the unveiling of the exhibition, “25 Steps to Freedom”, by Belarusian artist Olga Yakubouskaya.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya will participate in several discussion panels at the LAMPA Conversation Festival on 5 July, including a panel titled “The Baltic States and the Fourth Sister”. This event, with the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dace Melbārde, among the participants, will feature a conversation on national identities and political choices.
