On 16 October 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Krišjānis Kariņš, will be on a working visit to Vilnius, Lithuania, where he intends to meet with the Prime Minister of Lithuania, Ingrida Šimonytė, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis.
At the meetings with the Lithuanian officials, Foreign Minister Krišjānis Kariņš will have an exchange of views on bilateral relations between the two countries, the security climate in the region, regional cooperation matters, support to Ukraine, and other topics high on the international agenda.
The programme of the visit will also include a ceremony for the presentation of the annual Balts’ Award. The award is bestowed for outstanding achievements in research, fostering and strengthening of the Baltic people’s heritage. It was first presented in 2018.
This is the first working visit by the Foreign Minister Krišjānis Kariņš to Lithuania.
