Service requests
In order to obtain the permission of the tariff quota of conifers originating in the Russian Federation (the pine and fir) quotas for imports of logs as part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, the importer shall submit:
1. applications for authorisation of timber import quotas and written testimony;
2. a copy of the contract or letter of intent with the Russian side, which contains the item CN KODU and volumes.Receipt of services
The tariff quota authorisation shall be granted 5 working days of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, Kr. Valdemara street 3, before communicating by phone 670 15982 or email: licencesana@mfa.gov.lv
The tariff quota authorisation is valid until the end of the current year. The tariff quotas granted to authorised importer should be handed over to the Russian Federation partner who is the basis of export licences for the Russian Federation shall be submitted to the competent institution.
If the quota authorisation remains unused after six months of its issuing, must inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (licencesana@mfa.gov.lv) of its intention to use it for the remainder of the quota period or quota must be returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a permit. If the importer is unable to recover from the Russian Federation authorities quota authorisations shall make a sworn statement that, despite all efforts to recover the quotas were not possible.
In accordance with Commission Regulation (EC) No 2016 / 623 1 quota permits the beneficiary. Article 15 days after the end of each quarter shall inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the amounts imported by submitting the relevant customs declaration of the European Union.
